Consumer Club
Citizen Consumer Club (CCC) was established in our college during the year 2008. The objectives of Citizen Consumer Club are to educate the students about the rights of consumer as stated in Consumer Protection Act, 1986. The Club disseminates information gained through Citizen Consumer Clubs among their fellow students as well as among the people living in their respective locality.
With a view to take up womenâs issues and problems, the cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society. Added to it suggestions for improvement and empowerment among themselves has been given. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating womenâs empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs and other welfare activities.
Consumer rights as stipulated under consumer protection Act, 1986 are:
1. Right to safety.
2. Right to be informed
3. Right to choose
4. Right to heard
5. Right to seek red resale
6. Right to consumer education
7. Right to basic needs
8. Right to healthy environment
The motto of Right to Citizen Consumer club is AWARE, ALERT, AND ACT. Our college citizen consumer club is conducting various programs relating to consumer, rights, awareness and responsibilities for the benefit of the students. Our consumer club also conducts various competitions for students such as essay writing, poetry and drawing competition.
